Company’s operational capacity to touch 7.5 GW; 40 per cent to come from government utilities
Serentica Renewables plans to commission an additional 6.5 gigawatt (GW) of renewable energy projects by December 2027, taking its total operational capacity to 7.5 GW from the current 1 GW according to media reports.
Akshay Hiranandani, Chief Executive Officer of Serentica Renewables, said the 7.5 GW target includes 3 GW of projects floated by government-owned Renewable Energy Implementation Agencies (REIAs), which will account for 40 per cent of the company’s commissioned portfolio.
In the first five months of the current financial year, Serentica has signed three power purchase agreements (PPAs) and one letter of award aggregating 650 megawatt (MW) with major government utilities under the firm, dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) framework.
The company has signed an agreement with NTPC for a 200 MW solar-wind-storage peak power project and with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for 100 MW under the FDRE-IV load-following tender. It has also signed an agreement with NHPC for a 150 MW hybrid peak power project and received a letter of award from SJVN for a 200 MW time-block-based supply project scheduled between April and August this year.
These projects will be spread across Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
