Experience, Engage, And Invest: India The Rising Star At Davos

Invest India is the nodal agency on behalf of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF).

In the heart of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, where the global elite converge, this year’s event promises something extraordinary – the Experience India Centre (EIC). Spearheaded by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the EIC isn’t just another exhibition but a celebration, a testament to the emerging New India.

The curtains are set to lift on the 15th of January 2024. Led by JS Balamurgan D IAS, Joint Secretary of DPIIT, the Invest India team, including Varda Taneja, Anagh Singh, and Bhushan Trivedi, is set to take charge of the three distinctive lounges.

The crown jewel, the Experience India Centre, is expected to unfold as a sensory feast. It seeks to capture the essence of the New India on four pillars – Emerging Tech or Research and Development, Sustainability, Innovation, and Startups. The team worked tirelessly to curate an experience that showcased the nation’s diversity and ingenuity.

The EIC aims to provide the attendees with an immersive experience in a rich tapestry of India’s finest products and services. From groundbreaking ideas of startups to traditional crafts in the One District One Product (ODOP) showcase, the exhibition is set to narrate a story of inclusivity, culture, and economic empowerment.

In collaboration with various stakeholders, the Invest India team has meticulously designed the lounge to reflect India’s recent G20 Presidency. The overarching theme emphasizes India’s role as an innovation powerhouse. The narrative sought: Whatever the challenge, India is the solution.

The four pillars were interlinked, each telling a unique story. For sustainability, the lounge will feature a display of India’s commitment to environmental initiatives like the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, International Solar Alliance, and Global Biofuels Alliance. A 3D model of GreenKo’s Green Hydrogen facility and TruAlt Bioenergy’s Bioenergy Park will showcase India’s strides in sustainable practices.

In the realm of emerging technology or research and development, the lounge will unveil indigenous capabilities. Companies like Endure Air, Sagar Defence Engineering, Garuda Aerospace, Tardid Technologies, Galaxeye, Sankhya Labs, ISRO, and the Reserve Bank of India will showcase India’s prowess in drones, deep tech, space exploration, semiconductor design, lunar missions, and fintech innovations.

Throughout the WEF, discussions will reverberate around artificial intelligence, deep tech, soft power, resilient supply chains, and investments. The lounge isn’t just an exhibition; it is a conversation starter, an odyssey into the New India. For business enthusiasts, tech aficionados, and those seeking a glimpse into India’s future, the Experience India Centre promises an unforgettable journey through the diversity and brilliance of a nation on the rise.
