TERI Reports Surge In India’s Renewable Energy Provision

According to media reports Alok Kumar, a former Secretary of the Ministry of Power in the Government of India, emphasised the significance of paying attention to demand-side management and energy efficiency in India

According to the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and its 38 edition of the TERI Energy & Environment Data Diary and Yearbook (TEDDY), the proportion of renewable energy, including wind and solar, in India’s energy mix climbed from 27.5 per cent in 2022 to 30.1 per cent in 2023. Launched on Tuesday, TEDDY is an all-inclusive database of environmental and energy data that provides information on a range of industries, including power, renewable energy, coal, oil, and natural gas. The yearbook makes trend studies of energy intensity across businesses easier by offering data up to 2022–2023. The event highlights the importance of data for well-informed energy decision-making at the same time as TERI’s 50 anniversary. The conversation during the event emphasised the necessity of sustainability in energy talks and the significance of accurate and comprehensive data for assessing government policy.
