Sembcorp Secures 450MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Project In India

Sembcorp’s Green infra wins 450MW wind-solar hybrid project in India

With the Letter of Award from Solar Energy Corporation of India  (SECI) for a 450MW interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected wind-solar hybrid project, Sembcorp Industries’ renewable energy division, Green Infra Wind Energy (GIWEL), has achieved a noteworthy milestone. With this accomplishment, Sembcorp’s whole renewables portfolio in India reaches 4.2 GW, which adds to its 13.5 GW gross renewables capacity globally. The project is a component of SECI’s larger plan to create 2GW of wind-solar hybrid power installations in India that are connected to the ISTS. Following completion, a 25-year long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) will provide SECI with the generated power, and commercial operations are anticipated to begin within 24 months of the PPA’s signature. The move demonstrates Sembcorp’s dedication to growing its renewable energy portfolio and supporting India’s sustainable energy objectives. Sembcorp’s shares closed at USD 5.31, showing a marginal decrease of 0.93 per cent on 23 January.
