Camfil Expands Manesar Facility, Boosts India’s High-efficiency Air Filter Supply

New production line to serve hospitals, pharma, biotech and semiconductor sectors with certified HEPA and ULPA filters
Camfil, the Sweden-headquartered air filtration specialist, has expanded production at its Manesar plant with the commissioning of a new line dedicated to HEPA and ULPA filters, reinforcing its presence in India’s growing clean air market.
The additional line is expected to significantly increase supply for hospitals, pharmaceutical cleanrooms, biotechnology laboratories and other high-containment facilities, where air purity is critical to safety and performance.
Designed to comply with the stringent EN 1822 and ISO 29463 standards, the new equipment integrates advanced scanning and classification systems. Every unit produced will carry a full individual scan test report, certifying efficiency, integrity and compliance with global benchmarks.
“This step strengthens our ability to protect patients, researchers, and production processes that depend on clean air,” said Mark Simmons, Chief Executive of Camfil Group. “By combining rigorous testing with greater production capacity, we are ready to support critical sectors in India and beyond.”
The company underscored that all scanning technology and production equipment are developed in-house at its global R&D centres, a strategy it describes as “owning our own destiny”. The approach ensures intellectual property control, uniform quality and scope for product customisation, setting it apart in a highly competitive filtration industry.
The Manesar line will manufacture a wide range of HEPA and ULPA filters for environments classified ISO 5 to ISO 8. These include operating theatres, isolation wards, pharmaceutical production sites, semiconductor cleanrooms and biosafety-level containment zones.
Rahul Kapoor, Managing Director of Camfil India, said: “Adding this line in Manesar shows our confidence in India’s growing demand for high-performance filtration. Together with our local team, we aim to provide more customers with the clean air they need to work safely and efficiently.”
With the expansion, Camfil aims to strengthen its ability to deliver tested, certified filtration systems for sectors where air quality is directly tied to health, safety and operational reliability.
