Corporate Hygiene Partnerships Drive SDG Impact In Delhi-NCR Schools

Schools across Delhi-NCR engage students in interactive hygiene education, highlighting CSR-led initiatives for preventive health and sustainable behaviour change

Linking corporate social responsibility with measurable health outcomes, the Illness to Wellness Foundation (ITWF), in collaboration with the Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI), engaged over 15,000 students across 50 schools in Delhi-NCR to mark Global Handwashing Day.

The initiative, ‘Swasth Haath, Swasth Bachpan’ (Healthy Hands, Healthy Childhood), forms part of ITWF’s broader Illness to Wellness campaign, which aims to instil preventive health habits through interactive learning. The main event was hosted at The Indian School, Sadiq Nagar, with participating institutions including Delhi Public School (East of Kailash), Birla Vidya Niketan (Pushp Vihar), Shaheed Rajpal DAV Public School (Dayanand Vihar), and GD Goenka Public School (Bahadurgarh).

Supported by hygiene brand Savlon, the programme combined expert talks, live demonstrations, quizzes, and interactive videos to teach proper handwashing techniques. Embedding these lessons in school ecosystems helps cultivate lifelong hygiene habits and empowers students as community health ambassadors.

“Healthy hygiene practices begin at an early age, and schools are the ideal setting to shape these habits,” said Anil Rajput, Chairperson, Advisory Council, ITWF.

Since its launch last year, the campaign has reached over 30,000 students, demonstrating how corporate partnerships can deliver outcome-focused ESG impact and align with Sustainable Development Goals on health, education, and sanitation. The event concluded with the distribution of Savlon hygiene kits, reinforcing consistent hygiene practice and long-term community resilience.
