Jakson Green, Blueleaf Energy Achieve Financial Close For 840 MWp Rajasthan Solar Projects

Landmark funding completes partners’ 1 GWp solar portfolio aimed at advancing India’s clean energy goals

Jakson Green, a green energy transition platform, and Blueleaf Energy, a pan-Asian renewable energy company owned by a Macquarie Asset Management–managed fund, have announced the financial close of their 840-megawatt peak (MWp) Bikaner Solar Projects in Rajasthan.

The 280 MWp and 560 MWp Bikaner projects are backed by 25-year power purchase agreements with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (Seci) and NHPC, respectively, and are now ready for construction.

Once operational, the projects will generate renewable power equivalent to the annual electricity needs of over 1.5 million Indian households. Over their 25-year life cycle, they are expected to offset more than 34 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, contributing to India’s net-zero ambitions.

Bikesh Ogra, Vice Chairman and Global Chief Executive Officer, Jakson Green, said, “Securing financial closure for the Bikaner Solar Projects reflects our commitment to India’s energy transition and the strength of our partnership with Blueleaf Energy. This reinforces our position as a trusted player in the renewable energy sector.”

Raghuram Natarajan, Chief Executive Officer, Blueleaf Energy, said, “The financial close of the Bikaner Solar Projects is an important milestone that keeps us on track to complete the commissioning of our Rajasthan portfolio on schedule with Jakson Green.”

Pratyush Thakur, India Country Head, Blueleaf Energy, added that the funding brings the company closer to its goal of adding over 5 GW of renewable capacity to India’s grid by 2030.

The 1 GWp Rajasthan Solar Portfolio, which also includes the 140 MWp Bhawad Solar Project currently under construction, will feed into the Bikaner-III Interstate Transmission System. The projects are expected to support local employment, infrastructure, and community-based sustainability initiatives across the region.
