Vedanta Empowers 12 Lakh Learners Through Quality Education
Company strengthens education-to-employment pipeline through digital learning, inclusion, and skill development initiatives across India
Vedanta said it has reached over 12 lakh children and youth through its education programmes in FY25, aimed at improving access to learning, digital literacy, and employability.
The company’s initiatives, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 on Quality Education, focus on strengthening learning outcomes across rural and tribal regions through early education, school support, and career training.
Vedanta’s education model is anchored by 9,800 Nand Ghars operating in 16 states, providing early learning, nutrition, and healthcare services to more than 3.2 lakh children. The centres use smart TVs and regional digital content to improve school readiness and early learning outcomes.
The company has also expanded Stem and digital education under initiatives such as eKaksha, which offers over 12,000 educational videos and has 1.5 million subscribers. In Odisha, Mini Science Centres promote hands-on learning, while Stem labs in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand introduce AI and AR/VR tools in government schools.
Focus On Learning To Livelihood
Programmes such as Gyanjyoti in Odisha and Project Vidya in Jharsuguda have supported public schools through infrastructure improvements, digital tools, and teacher training, reducing dropout rates and improving attendance. Vedanta’s Jeevan Tarang initiative has enabled over 2,600 children with disabilities to access customised education and skill pathways.
Through its colleges, schools, and vocational institutes across Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and West Bengal, the company has also facilitated more than 20,000 job placements.
Vedanta said it is working towards establishing Vedanta University, a planned integrated education and research hub that will include a multidisciplinary university, R&D and innovation centres, and a sports complex.
The company said its education programmes aim to strengthen the continuum from early learning to employability and support broader community development across India.
