Homes With Rooftop Solar To Get 10% Tax Relief In Lucknow
Lucknow Municipal Corporation approves a 10 per cent rebate on house and water taxes to encourage households to install rooftop solar systems
Homes in Lucknow that install rooftop solar systems will receive a 10 per cent exemption on residential house and water taxes after the Lucknow Municipal Corporation approved the measure on 14 November 2025. The decision is part of a wider effort to promote renewable energy and support the PM Surya Awas Yojana.
The proposal was cleared at a meeting of the municipal corporation’s executive committee, chaired by mayor Sushma Kharkwal. Officials said properties with rooftop solar panels would be eligible for the rebate.
The exemption was among several development items discussed at the meeting, which focused on increasing the use of clean energy at the household level. Officials said the move is meant to encourage residents to shift from conventional electricity to solar power.
