Hindustan Power Wins SECI Contract For 150 MW Solar-Storage Project

The project, designed for flexible deployment, can be installed at suitable locations across the country

Hindustan Power has secured a Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) contract to develop a 150 MW solar and battery energy storage project, strengthening its portfolio in large-scale renewable infrastructure.

In a statement, the Delhi-based integrated power-generation company said the project will involve deploying 300 MW of solar capacity alongside 300 MWh of battery storage, enabling firm, dispatchable renewable power.

“Our focus remains on building assets that deliver stability and efficiency, as we continue to build future-ready energy infrastructure that supports India’s clean-energy ambitions,” said Ratul Puri, Chairman, Hindustan Power.

The project, designed for flexible deployment, can be installed at suitable locations across the country. It was awarded under SECI’s ISTS-connected solar tender with integrated battery storage and was finalised through a tariff-based competitive bidding process followed by an e-reverse auction on the ETS portal.

Hindustan Power is also commissioning several other large-scale renewable projects, including a 435 MW solar project in Uttar Pradesh, a 100 MW solar plant with a 100 MW storage system in Assam, and a 120 MWh storage project in Bihar. The company has additionally secured a contract from SJVN to build a 100 MW solar plant paired with a 200 MWh storage system.
