Sembcorp Buys 300MW Rajasthan Solar Asset, Lifts India Renewables Portfolio To 7.6GW

Acquisition of ReNew Sun Bright strengthens Singapore group’s clean energy footprint in the country

Sembcorp Industries on Friday said its Indian subsidiary has completed the acquisition of a 100 per cent stake in ReNew Sun Bright from ReNew, adding a 300-megawatt solar power project to its portfolio.

The acquired company owns and operates a utility-scale solar project at Fatehgarh in Rajasthan. The transaction was executed through Sembcorp Green Infra, the company said in a statement.

Following the acquisition, Sembcorp’s installed and under-development renewable energy capacity in India has crossed 7.6 gigawatt, consolidating its position among the country’s larger clean energy players.

At a global level, Sembcorp’s renewables portfolio now stands at 20.2 gigawatt, including capacity from an acquisition that is pending completion.

Headquartered in Singapore, Sembcorp Industries is an energy and urban solutions provider with operations spanning power, renewables and sustainable infrastructure, and is listed on the main board of the Singapore Exchange.
