GPS Renewables Secures Orders Of Rs 2,000 Crore For CBG
GPS Renewables plans to propel its clean energy initiatives through its climate infrastructure platform, GPSR Arya, in a joint venture with Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) for compressed biogas projects
With an emphasis on large-scale projects aimed at energy crops, municipal solid waste and agricultural residue, GPS Renewables is well-positioned to transform waste management and dramatically increase the output of clean energy.
With the help of specially created CBG plants from GPS Renewables, landfill buildup will be significantly reduced. Each day, 4,000 tonnes of agri-residue and energy crops will be processed, along with 300 tonnes of municipal solid waste for the production of biogas. A minimum daily CBG output of 350 tonnes is the goal of these initiatives.
GPS Renewables is expected to have a turnover of INR 500 crore during the fiscal year 2023–2024, thanks to a significant order book. The company has proven its financial strength despite its quick expansion; in FY22–23, it reported an EBITDA of INR 17.5 crore and a PAT of INR 11 crore. The number of workers increased from 72 to 175; at now, 356 professionals work full-time.
“From inception to date, we have focused on building a profitable solution to tackle India’s waste-to-bioenergy challenge,” said GPS Renewables CEO and co-founder Mainak Chakraborty, highlighting the company’s dedication to tackling the problem. Our company currently has 2,000 crore Indian rupees worth of orders from top companies,” according to media reports.
GPS Renewables intends to use its climate infrastructure platform, GPSR Arya, in a joint venture with Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) for compressed biogas projects in order to advance its sustainable energy activities.
The company’s R&D division, GPSR Aavishkar, is currently working on ground-breaking studies on anaerobic fungi for lignocellulosic biomass and digester technologies that are compatible with several feedstocks.
In keeping with the changing energy market, GPS Renewables is also funding initiatives and technology for the creation of sustainable aviation fuel.
