Envision Energy Collaborates With Healthcare Industry Pioneers To Harness Renewable Energy
A three-year renewable energy supply agreement was reached at the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland
Envision Energy, a well-known international supplier of green technology, has forged strategic alliances with five eminent healthcare organisations in an effort to accelerate the shift to net-zero health systems. This partnership is expected to produce about 200 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of green power a year starting in 2024.
This partnership, which represents a ground-breaking initiative, is the first time that renewable energy businesses and five prominent players in the healthcare industry—AstraZeneca, Lonza, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, and Roche—have worked together to promote sustainable development in the industry.
Formalisation of the historic three-year agreement on renewable energy supply took place during the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland. Envision Energy is expected to deliver 200 GWh of renewable energy annually, corresponding to a reduction of 120,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions.
This decrease is the same as taking 25,000 automobiles off the road, illustrating the partnership’s real environmental benefit. Beyond the short-term gains, it is expected that the partnership will open doors for other healthcare supply chain participants to reduce their carbon impact.
Envision Energy’s track record of helping over 2000 partners achieve net-zero targets through creative consultancy, digital solutions, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) demonstrates its dedication to sustainable energy solutions. Distributed generation, net-zero industrial parks, green tariffs, and PPA are just a few of the comprehensive green power solutions offered by the company, which has an annual trading volume over 10 terawatt-hours (TWh).
Envision Energy is a prominent player in the market, with strong upstream power generation capabilities that guarantee a significant annual supply of renewable energy. By doing this, its clients can lessen the negative effects of fluctuating electricity market rates on their operations and output by having long-term access to a dependable and steady power supply.
Four businesses are involved in the Sustainable Markets Initiative Health Systems Task Force: Novartis, Roche, Novo Nordisk, and AstraZeneca. The task force, which was established in 2020 by His Majesty King Charles III, the Prince of Wales, functions as a global private sector organisation for sustainable transition. Envision Energy is a member of the China Council Health Working Group of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, which was formed in November 2023. The organisation, which consists of 16 Chinese businesses in the energy, digital, and healthcare sectors, wants to speed up the provision of sustainable healthcare in China with wider global ramifications.
