The new partnership aims to establish Plastic Materials Recycling Facilities across India, driving circularity and sustainable resource management

Re Sustainability and Recycling Private (ReSRL), part of Re Sustainability, and Aarti Circularity (ACL), a subsidiary of Aarti Industries  (AIL), have disclosed the formation of a joint venture to develop Plastic Materials Recycling Facilities (PMRFs) across India. The initiative seeks to enhance plastic waste management and contribute to the circular economy.

The collaboration will focus on segregating, extracting, and recycling plastic waste to produce advanced circular materials (ACM), which can be used as raw materials, fuels, or polymer feedstock. The joint venture aims to achieve a minimum resource recovery capacity of approximately 500 tonne per day by 2030, with a focus on maximizing material and energy circularity.

Masood Mallick, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Re Sustainability, highlighted the significance of the partnership, saying it combines expertise in waste management with Aarti Industries’ experience in specialty chemicals. He emphasized the focus on sustainability and resource efficiency, aiming to minimize environmental impact and drive economic growth.

The first facility will be set up in Hyderabad, Telangana, marking a key step in expanding recycling infrastructure across India. The JV is also committed to exploring partnerships with technology providers to develop and operate state-of-the-art recycling facilities, setting new standards in India’s waste management sector.

Mirik Gogri, Director of Aarti Circularity Limited, expressed that the joint venture would help tackle environmental challenges and support a circular economy by reducing waste and reliance on virgin materials. The collaboration is seen as a step forward in revolutionizing plastic recycling in India.
