Bharat Tex To Reinforce India As A Sustainable Global ‘One Source’ For Textiles & Apparel: Textiles Secretary

Union Textiles Secretary, Neelam Shami Rao, praised the textile industry bodies for their dedication in organising Bharat Tex 2025, emphasising its role in reaffirming India’s position as a global leader in textiles. Speaking at the unveiling of the Bharat Tex 2025 app and website at Udyog Bhawan, she described the event as a significant milestone that will showcase India’s strengths as a sustainable and reliable source of textiles and apparel.

The Bharat Tex 2025 event, organized by 11 major textile industry bodies and supported by the Ministry of Textiles, will span over 2.2 million square feet. Expected to attract over 5,000 exhibitors, 6,000 international buyers from 120 countries, and 120,000 visitors, it will be a testament to India’s growing role in the global textile industry. The event will feature a diverse range of products from apparel and dyes to machinery, home furnishings, and technical textiles.

Neelam Shami Rao highlighted that Bharat Tex 2025 is not just a trade fair but a strategic platform that brings together the entire textile value chain. It will serve as a consolidated hub for showcasing India’s diverse capabilities, from traditional crafts to advanced manufacturing technologies. This event underscores India’s commitment to sustainability, highlighting its efforts to create a greener, more sustainable future for the global textile sector.

The Bharat Tex 2025 event will also host more than 70 conference sessions, roundtables, and master classes, with global experts discussing critical topics like sustainability, manufacturing 4.0, and the future of fashion. Additionally, the event will include live demonstrations, cultural performances, and sustainability workshops.

In line with the event’s approach, the Bharat Tex 2025 app will serve as a comprehensive platform for attendees, offering easy access to exhibitor profiles, session details, venue maps, and more. This eco-friendly app aims to streamline networking, engagement, and information-sharing, helping visitors navigate the event and explore India’s vast textile ecosystem.
