Reliance Retail Renews Partnership With Green Practices For Sustainable Waste Management

Ongoing collaboration aims to manage over 77,000 tonne of waste per month across Mumbai’s retail outlets

Reliance Retail has renewed its partnership with Green Practices, a waste management company based in Mumbai, to continue its efforts in promoting sustainable retailing. Since the partnership began in 2019, the two organisations have worked together to manage waste across over 45 Reliance Smart stores and 28 Sahkari Bhandar outlets in Mumbai.

The collaboration focuses on waste segregation, composting, and recycling to reduce the environmental impact of retail operations. The initiative has handled more than 77,000 tonne of waste each month, significantly reducing landfill reliance. To date, the partnership has managed over 48 lakh tonne of waste.

Vinay Adhye, Vice President and Business Head, Reliance Retail, shared, “Sustainability is integral to our business operations. This partnership with Green Practices is an important step towards reducing our environmental impact and improving waste management processes.”

Mana Shah, Founder of Green Practices, noted, “Through this partnership, we have been able to integrate circular economy principles into retail operations, turning waste into resources and supporting more sustainable practices in urban settings.”

This continued collaboration highlights the growing importance of responsible waste management in retail, with an emphasis on minimizing environmental impact in urban areas.
