Recyclekaro, a leader in e-waste management and lithium-ion battery recycling, has announced a significant expansion of its recycling capacity to 24,000 tonne annually at its advanced facility in Palghar, near Mumbai. This expansion increases the company’s e-waste recycling capacity from 7,500 MT to 24,000 MT per year and its lithium-ion battery recycling capacity from 4,200 MT to 10,000 MT annually.
With India generating over 3.2 million tonne of e-waste each year, coupled with a growing volume of lithium-ion battery waste, Recyclekaro’s expanded operations are positioned to meet these rising challenges. The increase in capacity supports India’s transition to a more sustainable, circular economy by addressing the environmental risks associated with improper waste disposal while recovering valuable materials for reuse.
Rajesh Gupta, Founder and Director of Recyclekaro, said, “By expanding our capacity, we are furthering our commitment to pioneering innovative recycling solutions. Our goal is to foster a future where resources are infinitely reusable, contributing to a cleaner, greener planet.”
Recyclekaro’s Palghar facility utilizes cutting-edge technology to recover critical metals like lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese, with over 95 per cent efficiency and 99.5 per cent purity. These metals are vital for the production of sustainable energy storage solutions. Since its inception, Recyclekaro has recycled 26,632 MT of e-waste and 8,432 MT of lithium-ion batteries.
The company works with a range of key partners, including battery manufacturers, automakers, and renewable energy companies, such as Bajaj Auto, Ather Energy, Hero MotoCorp, and Tata Motors. With over 1,350 completed projects and 1,200 plus collection points, Recyclekaro continues to play a significant role in advancing India’s circular economy.
