With 6.6 GWp module and 2.5 GWp cell capacity, the new facility marks a major stride in India’s solar manufacturing self-reliance

In a move toward strengthening India’s renewable energy manufacturing capabilities, Emmvee, a prominent solar solutions provider, has inaugurated its fifth module manufacturing facility at Sulibele, near Bengaluru International Airport. With the new plant adding ~2.0 GWp to its existing production capacity, Emmvee now boasts an impressive ~6.6 GWp module and 2.5 GWp solar cell capacity.

The sprawling new facility spans nearly 4 lakh square feet and is expected to generate over 500 new jobs, bringing the company’s total workforce to more than 2,500. The unit features advanced automation, stringent quality control systems, and flexible infrastructure capable of producing a variety of module sizes and formats.

D.V. Manjunatha, Chairman and Managing Director of Emmvee, remarked at the start, This is yet another step in the company’s dedication to supporting India’s renewable energy goals and achieving solar manufacturing self-reliance.”

Echoing the sentiment, Suhas Donthi, President and CEO of Emmvee, stated, This expansion not only increases capacity but enhances our technology and operations, enabling us to better serve our customers and meet growing demand.

India currently leads its clean energy push with 105.65 GW of installed solar capacity, making Emmvee’s expansion a timely and strategic development in line with the nation’s ambitions to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and build a robust green energy ecosystem.
