Husk Starts Beem To Power India’s 30-GW Residential Rooftop Solar Revolution

New AI-driven platform to support PM Surya Ghar Yojana and simplify solar adoption for 10 million Indian homes by 2027
Renewable energy pioneer Husk Power Systems has started Beem, a dedicated residential rooftop solar company aimed at unlocking India’s 30-gigawatt residential solar market. A fully owned Husk subsidiary, Beem will provide AI-enabled, end-to-end solar solutions tailored for Indian homeowners, in support of the Government of India’s ambitious PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
With a target of 10 million rooftop installations by 2027, the Surya Ghar initiative aims to democratize clean energy access across urban and rural households. BEEM enters the space with the promise of speed, simplicity, and service — leveraging Husk’s 16-year track record in solar design, installation, and 24/7 support.
“PM Surya Ghar Yojana’s incentives have created massive momentum, but India’s rooftop solar sector still struggles with fragmentation and complexity,” said Anubha Shukla, Chief Commercial Officer of Husk and Head of BEEM. “BEEM not only addresses this mismatch, but does so at speed and scale.”
BEEM offers a fully digital platform that helps customers size their systems, choose products, book installations, and access subsidy and net metering services — all online. The initial product line-up includes Aura and Eternia, designed for India’s predominantly flat-roof homes. With AI-driven tools and low-cost financing via partners, BEEM positions itself as the go-to platform for homeowners seeking seamless solar solutions.
BEEM will initially focus on Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, states with high solar potential and significant household energy demand.
Under PM Surya Ghar Yojana, the government offers a 15-day application process, up to 60 per cent subsidy, and loans at 7 per cent interest without the need for a credit score. The goal is to make the first 300 kWh per month free for residential users through solar.
“BEEM’s digital journey makes going solar as intuitive as using an iPhone,” said Manoj Sinha, Husk CEO and Co-founder. “And this is just the beginning. We see BEEM as a launchpad for India’s distributed energy revolution, eventually evolving into virtual power plants (VPPs) that allow homeowners to generate, store and trade clean energy.”
As India accelerates its clean energy goals, BEEM’s launch signals a major push toward decentralised, people-led solar adoption — a necessary step for achieving energy equity, climate resilience, and energy independence.
