Waaree Renewable Secures Rs 114 Cr Solar Project Under Maharashtra’s Farmer-centric Scheme

94 MW solar PV capacity to be built under Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0

Waaree Renewable Technologies (WRTL) has won a Rs 114.22 crore Letter of Award (LOA) for the design and construction of 94 MW (AC) of solar photovoltaic (PV) plants across multiple locations under Maharashtra’s Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0.

The contract, awarded by a leading renewable energy generation company following a competitive bidding process, underscores WRTL’s growing influence in India’s solar engineering, procurement and construction space.

The MSKVY 2.0 initiative, led by the Government of Maharashtra, aims to provide daytime electricity to farmers through decentralised solar installations, thereby reducing reliance on grid-based power and diesel pumps while enhancing rural energy resilience.

“This Letter of Award is more than just a project win—it’s a reaffirmation of the trust our partners place in us,” said Sunil Rathi, Executive Director, Waaree Renewable Technologies. “Whether it’s a utility-scale plant or a smaller distributed system, we bring the same passion and precision to every project. Through this initiative, we are enabling clean energy access for farmers and contributing to rural energy independence.”

India has crossed 97 GW of installed solar capacity as of 2024 and is targeting 280 GW by 2030, with growth driven by falling technology costs, progressive policy frameworks and expanding private sector participation. Schemes like MSKVY are central to ensuring that this growth reaches underserved rural communities.

WRTL’s integrated EPC approach—spanning design, procurement, construction and commissioning—has helped it emerge as a preferred partner across diverse geographies and regulatory environments.

Known for on-time project delivery and robust technical expertise, WRTL continues to work with repeat customers across industrial, commercial and public sectors. The new award is expected to further consolidate the company’s position as a leading player in India’s solar infrastructure ecosystem.

“This is how we power progress—one megawatt at a time,”  Rathi said, adding that the company remains committed to building climate-resilient infrastructure with long-term environmental and socio-economic value.
