EIL Awards R&D Order To Greenzo Energy For Hydrogen Electrolyser Modular Unit

The electrolyser unit will be deployed at EIL’s R&D complex in Sector 16, Gurgaon

Engineers India (EIL), a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has awarded a research & development (R&D) order to Greenzo Energy for the supply of a Hydrogen Electrolyser Modular Unit.

The order, issued through a letter of intent (LoI) and purchase order via the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) platform, covers supply, site work, and mandatory spares. The electrolyser unit will be deployed at EIL’s R&D complex in Sector 16, Gurgaon.

Greenzo Energy, which positions itself as India’s first integrated green hydrogen company, said the order was secured after a rigorous technical evaluation process. The company added that the project aligns with its focus on developing indigenous, scalable solutions in hydrogen technology.

“This R&D order from Engineers India reaffirms our role as India’s first dedicated green hydrogen company,” said Sandeep Agarwal, Managing Director, Greenzo Energy. “Our focus will be on delivering solutions that are globally competitive while reducing reliance on imports.”

The award comes as the government accelerates work on the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which aims to position India as a global hub for green hydrogen production and exports. EIL’s order to Greenzo Energy underscores the growing emphasis on domestic innovation in clean energy technologies.

Greenzo Energy said the project will act as a foundation for developing hydrogen solutions that can be scaled across sectors such as refineries, fertilisers, steel, and cement, supporting India’s decarbonisation targets.
