Volt Energy Crosses 100 Solar Projects, Offsets 25,000+ Tonne CO₂ For MSMEs

The projects have collectively helped offset over 25,000 tonne of CO₂ to date, equivalent to planting more than two lakh trees annually, while reducing electricity costs for MSMEs.
Volt Energy has announced that it has crossed the milestone of 100 rooftop solar projects across multiple states in just over a year. The company’s model enables businesses to adopt solar energy without any upfront investment, marking a significant step in democratising India’s clean energy transition.
Volt Energy’s business model, described as ‘Zero Risk, Zero Investment,’ requires no capital expenditure from customers. The company installs, operates, and maintains solar systems at its own cost, selling electricity at comparable or lower unit rates for five years. After that period, ownership of the system is transferred to the customer, who can then use the power generated without further payments to Volt or the discom.
“This milestone is not just about solar panels, it’s about rewriting the narrative of accessibility and sustainability for Indian industry. Our belief is simple: clean energy needs to be made more accessible to MSMEs in our country. They are the backbone of our country, and their growth and transformation are directly linked with that of the nation,” said Rishabh Dev Bajaj, Founder & CEO, Volt Energy.
On the technology front, Volt Energy has introduced a proprietary computer vision-powered AI system to monitor construction and O&M activities, resulting in a 30 per cent drop in operational inefficiencies. It offers a complimentary Energy Monitoring System (EMS) dashboard for customers to track consumption across grid, diesel gensets, solar, and batteries helping cut energy waste by up to 10 per cent.
“Our real vision is to turn every MSME rooftop in India into a solar plant with zero complexity, zero cost, and maximum intelligence. We’re not just installing systems, we’re building a decentralised energy infrastructure powered by AI, driven by equity, and rooted in climate resilience,” said Surbhi Bajaj, Co-founder and Director.
Volt Energy plans to deploy 400 more projects in the next 12 months, targeting an asset value of Rs 200 crore this year. Over the next five years, it aims to power 10,000 MSMEs across India, mobilising nearly Rs 4,000 crore in clean energy investments. The company is also expanding its 350+ channel partner network into tier-2 and tier-3 cities to further extend reach into industrial belts and remote production hubs.
