Akvo Atmospheric Water Systems has officially started its groundbreaking water-on-want (WoW) initiative for corporates across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. This solution introduces an Opex-based build-own-operate transfer (BOOT) contract model, enabling businesses to access state-of-the-art water generation technology without any upfront capital investment.

Developed and optimised over an 18-month pilot phase, WoW claimed that it ensures that corporates can meet their daily water needs sustainably, cost-effectively, and risk-free. With a minimum daily offtake of 500 litre per day (LPD), the solution offers a hassle-free way for companies to manage their water needs while minimising operational risks typically associated with infrastructure investments.

The key feature of the opex boot model is that clients don’t purchase equipment but instead pay a variable charge based on the amount of water consumed at a competitive per-litre rate. Akvo handles all aspects of ownership, installation, maintenance, and operation of the Atmospheric Water Generators (AWGs) throughout the contract’s duration, making it a zero-risk solution for companies.
