Anant National University Starts BTech In Climate Change For 2025 Admissions

India’s first undergraduate programme focused on climate action aims to prepare students for the rapidly growing global climate industry

Anant School for Climate Action has opened admissions for its BTech in climate change, a 4-year engineering degree program set to begin in 2025. This is India’s first and only undergraduate programme designed to address the critical challenges of climate change, preparing students for a rapidly expanding global climate industry valued at USD 23 trillion, as per the release.

The curriculum is structured to provide a deep dive into climate technology across eight streams, including climate simulation, Environmental Engineering, and Energy Technology. Students will also engage in applied research and hands-on experiences at Anant’s climate lab, with exposure to real-world industry and government projects. The final two semesters offer specialisation, including industry immersion opportunities.

India is expected to create millions of renewable energy jobs by 2030, but there is a significant gap in trained professionals to fill these roles. The BTech in Climate Change aims to bridge this gap by equipping students with the skills needed to lead in the emerging climate sector. Internship opportunities are available at major companies like Tech Mahindra, Johnson Controls, and Sustain Labs Paris, providing valuable industry experience.

Miniya Chatterji, Founding Director of the Anant School for Climate Action, emphasised the importance of the programme in preparing future leaders to tackle environmental challenges. “The BTech in Climate Change empowers students to create transformative solutions and lead the global climate industry,” she said.

The university has established global partnerships with top academic and industry institutions, such as the University of Pennsylvania and UNICEF, to offer students a world-class educational experience.
