Apraava Energy Commissions Largest Wind Energy Project In Gujarat
The new 250.7 MW wind project strengthens Apraava’s commitment to India’s green energy goals
Apraava Energy, one of India’s integrated energy solutions providers, has successfully commissioned its largest wind power project in Gujarat. Located in Sidhpur, Devbhoomi Dwaraka district, the 250.7 MW project is powered by 120 Suzlon wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW each. This project marks a major milestone in Apraava’s renewable energy portfolio, bringing its total operational wind capacity to approximately 1,200 MW.
The Sidhpur wind project was awarded to Apraava Energy under the Tranche VIII wind tender, sponsored by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), and has secured a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SECI at a competitive tariff of Rs 2.83/kWh. The project incorporates cutting-edge technologies, including advanced fire suppression and condition monitoring systems for the wind turbines.
Apraava’s Managing Director, Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, expressed his pride in the company’s achievement. “This milestone further solidifies our foothold in the wind industry,” he said. “We thank the state of Gujarat for its unwavering support, and we remain committed to helping India meet its green energy goals.”
In addition to its renewable energy developments, Apraava has invested in community development projects in the Sidhpur region. The company’s initiatives focus on livelihoods, water and sanitation, and women empowerment, including strengthening village institutions and providing youth skilling opportunities.
Apraava Energy’s broader portfolio includes other wind projects in Mahidad (50.4 MW) and Samana (100.8 MW), as well as a growing number of smart meter installations across Gujarat. With its long-term commitment to sustainable energy, Apraava continues to expand its low-carbon energy footprint, further contributing to India’s renewable energy ambitions.
