Apraava Energy Expands Low-Carbon Portfolio Through New Transmission Project Victory In Madhya Pradesh

This marks the third transmission project win for Apraava within the past year, indicating a significant stride in advancing its low-carbon business

Apraava Energy, a prominent integrated energy solutions provider, has recently clinched a new greenfield interstate transmission project in Madhya Pradesh through the Government of India’s Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process. This project encompasses the establishment of approximately 40 kilometers of 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines along with a 3,000 MVA substation. This achievement marks Apraava’s third transmission project triumph in the past year, indicating a significant uptick in its low-carbon business expansion efforts.

Under the Transmission Service Agreement (TSA), Apraava will undertake the development of the project utilising the BOOT (build, own, operate, and transfer) model. The project’s completion is slated within 24 months from the date of Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) transfer and aims to meet the escalating power requirements of the state.

Naveen Munjal, Director of Business Development & Commercial at Apraava Energy, expressed his satisfaction with the win, stating, “We are pleased to secure yet another substantial transmission project in Madhya Pradesh, reaffirming our dedication to meeting the state’s rising power demands. The efficient transmission of power across all regions is crucial for sustaining and accelerating the growth witnessed in Madhya Pradesh in recent years. Apraava Energy remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting India’s green objectives and ensuring equitable access to power.”

Apraava Energy will shoulder various responsibilities including ownership, financing, development, design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the project, while also providing transmission services for a period of 35 years post Commercial Operation Date (COD).

Previously in 2023, Apraava Energy secured two greenfield interstate transmission projects in Rajasthan. These projects entailed the construction of around 250 kilometers of 400 kV double circuit transmission lines alongside a pooling substation of 2500 MVA, forming a crucial part of the Rajasthan REZ, phase-III, Transmission scheme. This initiative aims to facilitate the evacuation of 20GW of renewable energy in the state of Rajasthan.
