Aster DM Healthcare Commissions 8.5 MW Solar Park In Kerala

The Rs 11.89 crore investment is projected to save the group Rs 4 crore annually
Aster DM Healthcare has commissioned an 8.5 MW solar park in Kasargod, Kerala, catering to the energy needs of its Calicut and Kannur hospitals. Spread over 27.2 acres, the project was developed with U-Solar Clean Energy Solutions and completed in 18 months using advanced mono PERC technology. It is expected to generate 14.03 million units of clean energy annually, offsetting nearly 11,590 tonne of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
“The successful commissioning of Aster’s large-scale solar park marks a significant milestone in our journey towards sustainable healthcare,” said Azad Moopen, Founder and Chairman, Aster DM Healthcare. “It ensures energy security, long-term cost efficiency, and a reduced carbon impact.”
The Rs 11.89 crore investment is projected to save the group Rs 4 crore annually. According to U-Solar CEO K. R. Harinarayan, the project is Kerala’s first group captive solar installation, setting a precedent for future clean energy initiatives in the state.
Aster plans to replicate the model across its hospital network, with upcoming projects in Kerala, Karnataka, and Maharashtra totaling around 36 MW. The move aligns with the company’s aim to build a resilient, energy-efficient healthcare infrastructure.
