Ather Energy Introduces New 2W Platform For Next-gen E-scooters

Company unveils Redux concept and AtherStack 7.0 with rider-safety features
Electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy on Saturday introduced a new two-wheeler platform designed for the next generation of electric scooters across multiple segments.
The new architecture, the first since the company’s flagship Ather 450, is built to deliver versatility, scalability and cost optimisation, enabling the brand to address a wider consumer base.
Alongside the platform, Ather showcased its concept moto-scooter, Redux, and introduced AtherStack 7.0 the latest upgrade to its proprietary operating system. The new stack integrates advanced rider-safety and community features such as live location sharing, real-time crash and pothole reporting, and tyre pressure monitoring.
“This new platform will allow us to accelerate innovation while making electric mobility accessible to more users,” said Ather Energy co-founder and CEO Tarun Mehta. Industry analysts note that expanding platforms and digital ecosystems are becoming crucial for India’s electric mobility players, as companies aim to balance affordability with advanced features.
India is the world’s largest two-wheeler market, and electric mobility is fast gaining traction. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), electric two-wheeler sales crossed 9,40,000 units in FY24, registering a growth of nearly 30 per cent over the previous year. Despite this momentum, electric two-wheelers still account for less than 5 per cent of overall two-wheeler sales, highlighting significant headroom for growth.
