CleanMax, a leading renewable power solutions provider, has inked a significant 25-year long-term power purchase agreement with Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) for the supply of renewable energy. The agreement entails sourcing energy from a 45.9 MW Solar-wind Captive Power Project established under the special purpose vehicle named Clean Max BIAL Renewable Energy Private Limited, as detailed in a recent press release.

Situated in Jagaluru, Karnataka, the captive power project comprises a 36 MW solar power plant and a 9.9 MW wind power plant, owned and operated by CleanMax. This strategic collaboration capitalizes on the synergies between solar and wind technologies, two of the fastest-growing renewable energy sources, known for their complementary attributes.

Highlighting the efficiency and reliability of the power plants in ensuring continuous energy supply, CleanMax emphasized the expansion of its longstanding partnership with BIAL, rooted in a shared commitment to sustainable energy practices.

Hari Marar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BIAL, expressed optimism regarding the agreement, stating that it would address the airport’s renewable energy needs for expansion while driving significant cost savings. The partnership underscores BIAL’s dedication to sustainability and responsible growth.

The captive renewable energy power plant is expected to generate approximately 90 million units of energy annually, comprising 58.3 million units of solar power and 31 million units of wind power. Leveraging existing grid infrastructure, the project will contribute substantially to CleanMax’s renewable energy portfolio.

Kuldeep Jain, Founder and Managing Director of Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Pvt Ltd, contextualized the partnership within India’s climate change mitigation efforts.
