Black Gold Recycling Strengthens Circular Economy With Acquisition Of Reteck Envirotech

The deal strengthens Black Gold’s circular economy ambitions by merging Reteck’s global expertise with its technology-led recovery platform to scale sustainable recycling across India

Hyderabad-based circular economy firm Black Gold Recycling has acquired a majority stake in Reteck Envirotech, the Indian subsidiary of Hong Kong and US–based Li Tong Group, a global player in reverse supply chain management and electronics lifecycle solutions.

The acquisition is aimed at expanding Black Gold’s technology-driven recycling operations across lithium-ion batteries, plastics, solar panels, and end-of-life electronics. The partnership combines Reteck’s operational expertise with Black Gold’s innovation-led recovery systems to scale sustainable waste management solutions across India.

Following the acquisition, Pankaj Tirmanwar, Chief Executive Officer of Reteck Envirotech, will join Black Gold as Co-founder and Board Member, contributing to the company’s efforts to strengthen its national presence.

Announcing the development, Prabhu Ram, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Black Gold Recycling, said the integration would reinforce the company’s goal of creating a circular economy platform that is scalable by design. “This acquisition brings together Reteck’s global operational expertise and our technology-led recovery platform to create a stronger, more responsible ecosystem for e-waste management in India,” he said.

Ram added that Black Gold’s work aligns closely with the Government of India’s Critical Mineral Mission Plan, which emphasises the recovery of valuable materials from discarded electronics, batteries, and solar equipment. “We’re investing in advanced processes that turn India’s waste streams into sources of value, innovation, and circular growth,” he said.

Linda Li, Chief Strategy Officer of Li Tong Group, said the transition reflected shared priorities in sustainability and operational integrity. “Reteck India has been an integral part of Li Tong Group’s global network. We’re pleased to transition our Indian business to Black Gold Recycling, whose local expertise, leadership, and sustainability focus align perfectly with our global vision,” she said, adding that the two firms would continue to collaborate on future initiatives.

The acquisition marks a significant step in consolidating India’s fragmented e-waste recycling ecosystem, with Black Gold positioning itself as a domestic leader in material recovery and sustainable resource management.
