Blue Energy Motors Signs Rs 3,500 Cr MoU With Maharashtra Government To Establish 30,000 EV Truck Manufacturing Plant
Partnership aims to drive Maharashtra’s green energy transition, create thousands of jobs, and position the state as a global hub for clean mobility solutions
Blue Energy Motors, a key player in Essar’s green mobility initiative, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The agreement marks the company’s plan to invest Rs 3,500 crore in setting up a cutting-edge manufacturing facility dedicated to the production of 30,000 electric trucks. This bold step will significantly contribute to the region’s industrial growth while supporting its transition to green energy.
The investment will result in a state-of-the-art production facility that will house advanced research and development (R&D) capabilities, battery-pack manufacturing, motor units, and charging stations. The project is expected to generate over 4,000 direct employment opportunities, further boosting the state’s economy. The first phase of the development is expected to commence in the fiscal year 2025-26.
Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership is a significant milestone in our mission to lead the charge in green trucking. Together with the Government of Maharashtra, we aim to create a cleaner, more sustainable future while fostering economic growth and job creation.”
The new facility will adopt advanced AI and ML technologies to produce zero-emission commercial vehicles, aiming to redefine heavy-duty trucking with unmatched efficiency and sustainability. This initiative aligns with Blue Energy Motors’ broader vision to become a global leader in green mobility solutions, addressing the challenges of climate change and contributing to the sustainable development of the transportation sector.
