The BW SustainableWorld Awards 2023 offered an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of sustainability stalwarts 

BWSustainabilityWorld organized the inaugural Sustainable World Awards in Mumbai as part of the 5th edition of the Sustainable World Conclave. The awards ceremony honoured champions of sustainability in various categories, thoughtfully crafted to highlight the intersections between individuals, organizations, and environmental elements. The awards aimed to acknowledge those making impactful contributions to create positive change, motivating both individuals and organizations to embrace sustainability practices within their industries.

We received an overwhelming number of nominations from across the country from organizations spread across a diverse range of industries such as retail, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), aviation, textile, cement & more. Through a preliminary shortlisting process, followed by a rigorous Jury pitching round, BW Sustainable World got its winners.

Jury and the Process

The nominations received for the Sustainable World Torch-Bearers 2023 underwent a meticulous multi-tier screening and shortlisting procedure to identify the most deserving winners. The jury process adhered to a specific set of parameters for evaluating the entries including new initiatives taken in the last 5 years, implementation of ideas and their impact on the industry, key contributions and awards received, and challenges faced by the individual/organisation in the implementation of the project.

The jury comprised of Praveen Gargr, IAS (Retd), Former Special Secretary, MoEFCC, Former CMD, SPMCIL, Presently President, Mobus Foundation, Sudhir Mishra, Founder & Managing Partner, Trust Legal, Noted Environmental Lawyer, Samir Shah, Managing Partner, Peak Sustainability Ventures, Dr Srinath Sridharan, Author, Policy Researcher & Corporate Advisor, Dr Suneel Pandey, Director – Environment & Waste Management Division, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) & Director – Emerson Centre for Sustainability Studies, TERI School of Advanced Studies, and Dr Annurga Batra, Chairman &  Editor-in-Chief, BW Businessworld & Founder, Exchnage4media.
