Delhi Bans Polluting Commercial Vehicles From November

Only cleaner, compliant trucks allowed as Delhi strengthens pollution controls

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) will bar polluting commercial vehicles from entering Delhi starting 1 November 2025, in a bid to tackle the city’s worsening air quality.

Only goods vehicles meeting BS-VI standards or running on CNG, LNG, or electricity will be allowed. BS-IV commercial vehicles registered in Delhi get a transitional window until 31 October 2026. Border checks will be stepped up to enforce the move.

CAQM has also empowered district authorities in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and NCR regions of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan to initiate legal action against officials who ignore stubble burning. The measure follows a Supreme Court directive, underscoring the regulator’s push to clean the air in the capital region.
