Desco Infratech Signs MoU With KP Group For Hydrogen-Natural Gas Blending
The collaboration aims to advance hydrogen blending in India’s city gas networks, supporting the nation’s clean energy transition and net-zero ambitions
Desco Infratech has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KPI Green Hydrogen and Ammonia and Naveriya Gas to initiate Hydrogen-Natural Gas Blending Projects in the City Gas Distribution (CGD) sector.
The partnership marks an important step towards strengthening India’s green energy infrastructure and advancing the country’s transition to cleaner sources of fuel. It also aligns with the national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, seeking to reduce dependence on conventional fossil fuels and move towards greater energy self-reliance.
Under the arrangement, KPI Green Hydrogen will be responsible for producing green hydrogen, while Desco Infratech will bring its engineering and technological expertise to enable the blending of hydrogen with natural gas. The blended fuel will then be integrated into Naveriya Gas’s CGD network, ensuring a more sustainable and efficient energy supply.
The initiative is expected to lower carbon emissions, optimise the use of existing infrastructure, and contribute to India’s long-term goal of achieving net-zero emissions. It also represents a broader commitment to energy security and the creation of resilient, future-ready systems.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Malhar P. Desai, Whole-Time Director at Desco Infratech, said, “This partnership is a responsibility we owe to future generations. Together, we are blending innovation with sustainability to power a greener, stronger India.”
Through this collaboration, Desco Infratech reaffirms its position as an engineering firm dedicated to developing infrastructure that is not only efficient, but also sustainable and forward-looking.
