Gentari, UltraTech Commission India’s First On-site Hybrid RTC Renewable Energy Project

The facility uses bifacial solar modules with trackers alongside wind turbines and energy storage, engineered to optimise reliability and resilience

Clean energy solutions provider Gentari has partnered with UltraTech Cement, the country’s largest cement and ready-mix-concrete company, to commission India’s first on-site hybrid round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy project.

The 7.5 MW facility, located at UltraTech’s Sewagram Cement Works in Gujarat, combines solar, wind and battery storage in a co-located configuration. Designed to ensure uninterrupted clean energy, the project is seen as a benchmark in customer-led clean energy solutions, offering a renewable alternative to conventional baseload power.

“This project with UltraTech reflects the evolution of industrial energy demand – and our ability to meet it with foresight, innovation and collaboration,” said Sharad Pungalia, Country Head, Gentari India. “It was co-created with our customer to deliver a solution that is not only sustainable but also operationally viable at scale.”

The facility uses bifacial solar modules with trackers alongside wind turbines and energy storage, engineered to optimise reliability and resilience. The project marks a milestone in Gentari’s India portfolio and forms a key pillar of its regional strategy to expand firm renewable power across Asia-Pacific.

Gentari, which operates across renewable energy, hydrogen and green mobility, said the project demonstrates how integrated clean energy systems can be built for performance, not just generation.
