HCCB Signs MoUs With Maharashtra Districts For Inclusive Development Under Project Shine

The MoUs aim to support initiatives in women’s empowerment, water access, healthcare, education, skill development, and livelihood generation

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) has signed multiple memoranda of understanding with the district administrations of Pune, Ratnagiri, Palghar, and Jalgaon to implement its CSR programme, Project Shine. The agreements were formalised in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with state ministers Girish Mahajan and Pankaja Munde.

The MoUs aim to support initiatives in women’s empowerment, water access, healthcare, education, skill development, and livelihood generation. District collectors will oversee permissions, beneficiary selection, and stakeholder coordination to align the projects with local development plans.

Under the partnership, HCCB will co-design and execute CSR activities such as rejuvenation of water bodies, deployment of electric vehicles for waste collection, upgrading schools and Anganwadis, strengthening primary health centres, and constructing overhead water tanks. Plans also include WASH initiatives, digital literacy, skill-building programmes for youth, and support for women’s self-help groups.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Fadnavis said the collaboration would extend development beyond urban areas into rural and tribal districts, supporting the government’s broader mission of inclusive growth. HCCB’s Vice President and Chief PACS Officer Himanshu Sekhar Priyadarshi said the company aimed to create scalable development models by tailoring interventions to local needs.

According to HCCB, Project Shine covers five core areas: environment and disaster management, health and hygiene, women’s empowerment and livelihood, education and skill-building, and broader community development. The company said its CSR programmes in Maharashtra have so far reached about 1.2 lakh people through awareness drives, waste management projects, school upgrades, and training initiatives.
