Indian Biogas Association receives pledge for investment worth Rs 2,755 crore
The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) has received pledges of new investments totaling Rs 2,755 crore during the Renewable Energy India Expo. The investments, which are expected to be realized in the next three years, were made by companies from various countries including Germany, Sweden, and Italy
The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) recently was at the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2023, where it got commitments for new investments totaling Rs 2,755 crore. During the recently concluded Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo held at Greater Noida from 4-6 October 2023, the association signed joint ventures (JVs), memorandums of understanding (MoUs), and got letter of intent (LoI) pledges.
The MoUs amount to more than Rs 1,000 crore of JVs and could get an interest for 54 LoIs for setting up of compressed biogas plants in the country.
The expo focuses on bio-energy, solar, and wind in the RE sector along with electric vehicles and battery storage, witnessed interest from companies from various countries like Germany, Sweden, and Italy at the event. The objective is to accelerate India’s pledge towards net zero emission. Besides, the bio-energy pavilion received support from the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) and several national and international industry players.
For Indian operators, producers, and designers of biogas plants as well as public policy advocates, scientists, and researchers, the IBA is the first national and professional biogas association. It collaborates with numerous international organisations, including the German Biogas Association, to support India’s bioenergy industry.
