Kotak Life Expands CSR In Tamil Nadu & Puducherry

With seven new Mobile Medical Vans, Kotak Life will cover operating costs, supply medicines, train staff, and ensure their efficient functioning
Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Company (Kotak Life) has expanded its healthcare-focused Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry with the launch of seven new Mobile Medical Vans (MMVs). With this, the company has doubled its MMV presence in the region to 14 vans.
The initiative, undertaken in collaboration with Wockhardt Foundation, aims to strengthen primary healthcare access in underserved and semi-urban communities. Two of the newly launched vans were flagged off from Coimbatore on August 19, while others were stationed in Ramanathapuram, Nagapattinam, Krishnagiri, Kallakuruchi and Puducherry.
The vans will provide free primary health check-ups, diagnostic services, and basic treatment. Kotak Life will bear operational costs, supply medicines, offer capacity-building training and ensure smooth functioning of the MMVs.
“At Kotak Life, we believe that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right. By expanding our Mobile Medical Van initiative, we are reaching deeper into underserved communities and helping build a healthier, more inclusive India,” said Mahesh Balasubramanian, Managing Director, Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance.
For FY25–26, Kotak Life has allocated more than 45 per cent of its CSR budget to Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, with healthcare and education as key focus areas. Alongside MMVs, the insurer is also promoting eye donation awareness programme and extending scholarships across 23 colleges in Tamil Nadu.
