KP Group Partners With Senvion India on 2 GW Wind And Hybrid Pipeline

Three-year partnership covers wind and hybrid projects across several Indian states

KP Group has signed a framework agreement with Senvion India to develop up to 2 gigawatts of wind and wind-solar hybrid projects across a number of Indian states over the next three years. The agreement has been signed through KPI Green Energy, KP Energy and KP Green Engineering. Senvion India operates under the strategic ownership of Global Renewable Energy Development Holding Company, the Dubai-based investment arm of Alfanar Group.

The partnership brings together KP Group’s project development and balance-of-plant work with Senvion’s turbine platforms. Both companies aim to offer integrated project execution from site development to generation.

KP Group will lead land identification and development, including acquisition, permits and balance-of-plant work covering civil structures, internal roads, foundations, electrical systems and grid links up to interconnection points. Senvion India will supply wind turbine generators for the projects and will enter project-level supply contracts.

Faruk G Patel, founder and chairperson and managing director of KP Group, said the partnership marked a step in its work to contribute to India’s renewable targets. He said combining KP Group’s execution abilities with Senvion’s technology would help build “high-quality, bankable wind and hybrid assets”.

Amit Kansal, chief executive and managing director of Senvion India, said the framework sought to make project execution “simpler and more predictable” by pairing KP Group’s development strengths with made-in-India turbine platforms.

Jamal Wadi, chairperson of Senvion, said the collaboration supported India’s renewable ambitions and aimed to deliver projects that combine technical quality with sustainable impact.

Senvion India, which has been present in the country since 2016, engages over 1,200 people across its operations. The company has developed and installed wind projects across India and has deployed 120 metre, 130 metre and 140 metre rotor turbines suited to the country’s wind conditions.
