NDMC Presents 11-point Plan for Sustainable Future
On Thursday 15 August, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chairman Naresh Kumar presented an 11-point action plan, setting the agenda for the upcoming year. The disclosure took place at Palika Kendra during the 78th Independence Day celebrations, where Kumar also hoisted the national flag.
The comprehensive plan outlines the NDMC’s focus on a variety of critical areas, including climate resilience, cleanliness, green initiatives, digital transformation, and the enhancement of education and health infrastructure to world-class standards.
A significant component of the plan is reducing pollution and achieving 100 per cent renewable energy use by 2025. To this end, NDMC has partnered with various public sector undertakings (PSUs) in the energy sector and has acquired new machinery for road cleaning to support these goals.
Also, the NDMC will work towards promoting cultural activities, developing top-tier sports facilities, and improving social infrastructure. There is a special emphasis on creating inclusive services for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
Kumar expressed his vision for NDMC to lead the way in sustainable development, with a commitment to ensuring that every social sector within its jurisdiction is included in the progress.
In celebration of Independence Day, the NDMC displayed 16,000 flags across its jurisdiction and placed 24 floral boards in Lutyens’ Delhi to extend greetings to the citizens.
This 11-point agenda reflects NDMC’s commitment to building a cleaner, greener, and more inclusive future for the residents of New Delhi.
