NTPC Renewable Energy Wins 70,000-MT Green Ammonia Auction From Seci

Seci states that this deal reflects the lowest discovered price for green ammonia to date
NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), has secured the entire 70,000 metric tonne per annum capacity in an e-reverse auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India.
As per a regulatory filing, NTPC REL will supply the green ammonia to Krishana Phoschem in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh, at a discovered price of Rs. 251.80 per kilogram. The auction was part of SECI’s larger tender to procure 7.24 lakh metric tonnes of green ammonia across 13 locations in India.
In a social media post, Seci stated that this deal reflects the lowest discovered price for green ammonia to date.
In a parallel development, NTPC Green Energy said that IRCON Renewable Power (IRPL) , a joint venture of Ayana Renewable Power , a subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green has achieved commercial operation of 75 megawatts (Lot-5). This brings the cumulative operational capacity of the 500 MW solar power project to 300 Mw.
This development is in line with NTPC’s broader push to integrate green hydrogen and ammonia in its decarbonisation roadmap, supporting India’s goal of becoming a global hub for green fuels.
