In a step towards advancing India’s renewable energy capabilities, the Odisha Government has allocated land to Inox Solar, a subsidiary of Inox Clean, for the establishment of a state-of-the-art solar cell and module manufacturing plant in Dhenkanal. This cutting-edge facility, with a capacity to produce 4.8 GW of solar cells and 4.8 GW of solar modules, is set to strengthen India’s green energy infrastructure and contribute to the country’s ambitious renewable energy targets.
The allocation of land for the plant follows Inox Solar’s announcement earlier this year of a Rs 4,000 crore investment in the state. The High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA)-approved project aims to support India’s drive to reach 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, in line with the country’s commitment to combating climate change.
The facility, which will be among the largest of its kind in the country, is expected to generate over 3,400 direct and indirect jobs, playing a vital role in promoting employment and industrial growth in Odisha. In addition to job creation, the project is poised to stimulate significant infrastructure development and economic growth across the state.
Odisha’s Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, expressed his enthusiasm about the project, stating, “We are thrilled to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of expanding renewable energy in India. This solar manufacturing plant not only aligns with our goal of making Odisha a green energy powerhouse but also creates valuable employment opportunities and fuels long-term economic growth.”
Devansh Jain, Executive Director of INOXGFL Group, emphasised the company’s commitment to advancing India’s clean energy goals, saying, “This strategic partnership with the Odisha Government is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and innovation. We are eager to leverage our expertise in renewable energy to deliver world-class manufacturing solutions that will drive both business growth and community empowerment.”
The plant will contribute significantly to India’s renewable energy ecosystem and support Odisha’s sustainability targets, which include reducing the state’s carbon footprint while fostering economic and industrial development. The facility also aligns with INOXGFL’s broader mission to lead India’s energy transition through integrated green solutions.
Inox Solar’s new manufacturing hub will be an important step in the country’s pursuit of clean, sustainable energy solutions, reflecting the shared commitment between the Odisha Government and INOXGFL to create a greener and more resilient future for India.
