ONGC Receives ‘B’ Rating In 2024 CDP Climate Score

The company’s climate-related disclosures are assessed, reflecting ongoing efforts toward sustainability
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has secured a B- rating in the 2024 CDP Climate Score, which assesses companies on their environmental transparency and efforts in managing climate-related risks. This rating highlights ONGC’s commitment to improving its climate disclosures, though it is still working toward aligning fully with global best practices in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
The CDP score, part of a broader initiative involving over 24,800 organisations, provides insights into how companies are addressing climate change and sustainability. The results are expected to inform stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, capital market signatories, and strategic partners, about ONGC’s progress in reducing its environmental impact.
ONGC’s climate data will also contribute to the Net-zero Data Public Utility (NZDPU), an effort to share information for wider industry action on climate change. CDP also indicated that in 2025, it will refine its disclosure framework, offering companies like ONGC a stable platform for continuing their sustainability efforts.
The company said that the B- rating reflects its ongoing work in addressing climate risks and sustainability, while the company continues to adjust its strategies for long-term environmental responsibility.
