Oswal Pumps Bags Rs 442 Cr Solar Pump Order From Maharashtra

The deal covers supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of off-grid direct current pumping systems at designated farmers’ sites across Maharashtra

Oswal Pumps has secured Rs 442 crore contract from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company [ MSEDCL] to supply 14,787 solar water pumping systems under the PM-KUSUM Scheme’s Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana.

The deal covers supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of off-grid direct current pumping systems at designated farmers’ sites across Maharashtra. Installations must be completed within 60 days of receiving work orders or approvals.

The empanelment letter, valid for one year, marks a significant boost to the company’s renewable energy portfolio.

Announced in 2019, the PM-KUSUM scheme aims to expand solar capacity by 30,800 MW, with central financial support of Rs 34,422 crore. It has three components: small solar power plants (Component A), standalone solar-powered agriculture pumps (Component B), and solarisation of grid-connected agriculture pumps (Component C). The scheme’s deadline was extended to March 2026 following pandemic delays.
