RailTrans Expo 2025 Opens In New Delhi, Focuses On Sustainable & Future-ready Rail Mobility

Industry, academia, and government leaders align on transformative goals for Viksit Bharat @2047
The RailTrans Expo 2025 was inaugurated today at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, bringing together key stakeholders from the government, industry, and academia to shape India’s evolving rail and logistics ecosystem. Organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in collaboration with the Urban Infra Group, the two-day event is themed “Viksit Bharat @2047 – Rail & Mobility for a Developed India.”
The expo aims to catalyse discussions on next-generation mobility solutions, infrastructure innovation, and the strategic role of railways in achieving India’s long-term development goals.
Among the speakers at the inaugural session were Manoj Choudhary, Vice Chancellor, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya; Rajeev Singh, Director General, Indian Chamber of Commerce; Vijay Sharma, Director, Jindal Stainless; Kanishka Sethia, CEO, Western Carriers India and National Chair – Logistics & Supply Chain, ICC; Kumar Keshav, Director, DB International Operations; and Sanjiv Garg, Secretary General, CILT India.
Choudhary stressed the growing need for skilled talent in the sector, highlighting Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya’s role in building human capital aligned with India’s infrastructure expansion. “We are moving from silos to synergy—through planning, execution, and innovation. Railways are now central to national unity, not just transit,” he said.
Calling for global standards in design and sustainability, Vijay Sharma of Jindal Stainless Ltd. remarked, “India must move beyond cost to lifecycle value. From hydrogen trains to corrosion-resistant materials, innovation with accountability is key to building infrastructure that lasts.”
Kanishka Sethia highlighted the integration of technology into infrastructure. “This is the dawn of a new mobility economy—with high-speed rail, AI-powered maintenance, and carbon-neutral logistics redefining movement across the country,” he said.
ICC’s Director General, Rajeev Singh, reiterated the chamber’s commitment to supporting infrastructure-led growth. “Platforms like RailTrans Expo are essential not just for showcasing solutions, but for enabling collaboration and real business value. The private sector is crucial to sustaining the momentum created by public investment,” he said.
RailTrans Expo 2025 also aims to facilitate partnerships and policy discussions to support India’s broader Viksit Bharat @2047 vision. Sessions over the next two days will feature technology showcases, panel discussions, and sectoral roundtables focusing on digital infrastructure, decarbonisation, safety systems, and logistics integration.
The event underscores India’s aspiration to build a globally competitive and environmentally sustainable rail and mobility network through innovation, investment, and skill development.
