Redington’s Chennai Office Got LEED Platinum Certification For Sustainability
Redington, an integrated technology company, has been recognised for its efforts towards sustainability with its Chennai office achieving the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification. This distinction, awarded by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), is the highest level in the global green building rating system.
The certification recognises buildings that meet strict criteria for reducing carbon emissions, improving energy performance, and using sustainable materials. Platinum, the top certification, is followed by Gold, Silver, and Certified levels. Redington’s Chennai office exceeded these benchmarks, focusing on areas such as energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and sustainability practices.
Environmentally Conscious Office Design
The Chennai office, a fully owned commercial building, has the capacity to accommodate over 500 employees. It features energy-efficient lighting, advanced HVAC systems, rooftop solar power generation, and rainwater harvesting. Together, these systems help reduce the building’s energy consumption and carbon footprint. Additionally, the office is equipped with charging points for electric vehicles, automated variable lighting, and green walls throughout the premises. The use of recycled furniture further adds to the building’s sustainability efforts.
Strategically located for easy access by employees, the campus integrates energy management systems and other features designed to create a low-impact, high-efficiency workspace.V. S.
