Silicon Labs (NASDAQ: Slab), a leader in secure and intelligent wireless technology, has declared the shipment of four million FG23 System on Chips (SoCs) for smart electricity meters as part of India’s ambitious Advanced Metering Initiative (AMI). This deployment, in collaboration with Wirepas, a company in wireless connectivity solutions, marks a milestone in the country’s energy modernization efforts, claimed the company.
The FG23 SoCs, powered by Wirepas’ interoperable RF mesh technology, are designed to offer highly reliable, efficient, and scalable solutions for smart metering, catering to the unique demands of India’s diverse power grid. With a proven 99.9 per cent reliability rate, the combined solution has been critical in ensuring accurate and consistent electricity data transmission, even in challenging environments.
