Sustainability Champions Shine At BW Sustainable World Awards 2025

The BW Sustainable World Awards 2025 recognises and celebrates individuals and organisations making significant contributions to sustainability across various industries
BW Sustainability World organised the inaugural Sustainable World Awards in Mumbai as part of the seventh edition of the Sustainable World Conclave. The awards ceremony honoured champions of sustainability across various categories, thoughtfully crafted to highlight the intersections between individuals, organisations, and environmental elements. The awards aimed to acknowledge those making impactful contributions to create positive change, motivating both individuals and organisations to embrace sustainability practices within their industries.
BW Sustainability World received an overwhelming number of nominations from across the country, from organisations spread across a diverse range of industries such as retail, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), aviation, textiles, cement, and more. Through a preliminary shortlisting process, followed by a rigorous jury pitching round, BW Sustainable World identified its winners.
Jury And The Process
The nominations received for the Sustainable World Torch-Bearers 2025 underwent a meticulous multi-tier screening and shortlisting procedure to identify the most deserving winners. The jury process adhered to a specific set of parameters for evaluating the entries, including new initiatives taken in the last five years, implementation of ideas and their impact on the industry, key contributions and awards received, and challenges faced by the individual/organisation in the implementation of the project.
The jury comprised Praveen Garg, IAS (Retd), Former Special Secretary, MoEFCC, Former CMD, SPMCIL, and Presently President, Mobus Foundation; Sudhir Mishra, Founder & Managing Partner, Trust Legal, Noted Environmental Lawyer; Samir Shah, Managing Partner, Peak Sustainability Ventures; Noor Fathima Warsia, Group Editorial Director, BW Businessworld; Chandni Khosla, Board Advisor – Sustainability & Sustainable Finance; Nidhi Sarin, Director, GEAPP India, Jatinder Cheema ESQ, Managing Principal, Chambers of Jay Cheema; MKS Pasha, IUCN Asia Regional Coordinator, Protected, Conserved and Heritage Areas, Asia Protected Areas Partnership, IUCN-ARO, Bangkok, Thailand; and Dr Annurag Batra, Chairman & Editor-in-Chief, BW Businessworld & Founder, Exchange4media.
The nominees underwent a meticulous multi-tier screening, scrutiny and shortlisting procedure to identify the most deserving and estimable winners. The jury process adhered to a specific set of parameters for evaluating the entries, including major accomplishments, and the rationale behind each nominee’s potential win. Not a single stone left unturned to maintain the sanctity of this prestigious award.
