Tata BlueScope Starts Prisma To Power India’s Sustainable Construction Boom

Next-gen coated steel redefines aesthetics, durability, and eco-efficiency for roofing and cladding solutions
Tata BlueScope Steel on Tuesday announced the launch of Prisma, a next-generation pre-painted alloy-coated steel coil, aimed at meeting India’s rising demand for sustainable and design-forward construction materials.
The premium solution features a 55 per cent aluminium-zinc alloy coating and a high-gloss finish that offers scratch resistance and long-term durability, making it suitable for roofing, cladding, interiors and industrial applications.
Developed through in-house R&D and manufactured at Tata BlueScope Steel’s coated steel facilities, Prisma targets customers in tier 2 and Tier 3 markets seeking high-performance alternatives to conventional construction solutions. The product is positioned as a durable and eco-friendly option for India’s fast-growing real estate and infrastructure sectors.
“Prisma is a testament to our commitment to delivering advanced, sustainable and high-value steel solutions that cater to India’s evolving infrastructure needs,” said Priya Rajesh, DGM – Marketing and Corporate Communication, Tata BlueScope Steel. “Our purpose is larger than just delivering quality products—it is about creating lasting impact through #ShelterForAll.”
Prisma is part of Tata BlueScope Steel’s broader strategy to promote healthier and environmentally responsible building practices. Its long lifecycle and thermal efficiency reduce environmental costs while enabling bold architectural designs.
The company is also investing in product innovation, with efforts underway to expand colour options, improve performance characteristics and increase sustainability benchmarks.
“We extend our gratitude to our valued customers for their unwavering support,” Rajesh said. “Their trust motivates us to continue innovating and delivering best-in-class solutions that drive the future of the value-added steel industry.”
Tata BlueScope Steel is a joint venture between Tata Steel and BlueScope Steel of Australia. It manufactures coated and colour-coated steel for the building and construction industry across India and South Asia.
