Think Gas Expands LNG Network To Power India’s Green Freight Revolution

New stations in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu to support low-emission long-haul trucking

In a move that underscores India’s transition to cleaner logistics, Think Gas has announced the rollout of six new LNG dispensing hubs to boost long-haul green mobility. The expansion marks a critical step in building scalable infrastructure for low-emission trucking, a segment rapidly gaining ground as fleet operators pivot away from diesel.

Three of these new LNG fuelling stations will go live by September 2025 in Anantapur and Nellore (Andhra Pradesh), and Vallam in Kanchipuram district (Tamil Nadu). Another three will be operational by December, all integrated with THINK Gas’s existing LCNG stations to optimise fuel distribution and logistics.

“India is entering a new era of energy transformation, and at Think Gas, we are proud to be at the forefront of that journey,” said Abhilesh Gupta, Managing Director and CEO, Think Gas.

With this announcement, Think Gas deepens its commitment to building a nationwide network supporting LNG-powered heavy commercial vehicles. The six new dispensing points complement its flagship station in Bagroda, Bhopal, and will plug directly into the firm’s current footprint of 18 operational LCNG stations.

The infrastructure upgrade is aligned with the government’s target to increase the share of natural gas in India’s energy mix from around 6% to 15% by 2030. The logistics sector, a significant contributor to India’s carbon emissions, is under increasing pressure to decarbonise. LNG, offering both cleaner emissions and compelling cost advantages, is gaining traction among transporters and fleet operators.

“The addition of six new LNG filling hubs at our existing LCNG stations marks a major milestone in our mission to accelerate the adoption of low-emission fuels in the heavy commercial vehicle segment,” Gupta added.

The company operates India’s largest fleet of LNG carriers, with 61 specialised trucks delivering fuel across the country. This logistics backbone enables reliable access to LNG on national freight routes, including the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and the Eastern and Southern freight belts.

Think Gas claimed that it is also deploying innovations such as Net Metering for LNG, which allows fleet operators to monitor fuel usage in real-time—enhancing transparency, control, and efficiency.

Its stations are equipped with Boil-off Gas (BoG) management systems to ensure no methane emissions, reinforcing the company’s ESG credentials.
